Page Dye
Commonly referred to as page-dying, this technique enables the addition of color to your pages. You may often encounter terms like "red-under-gold" or "blue-under-silver." The initial color denotes the page dye, while the gold or silver indicates existing gilding on the pages. Page dye can also be applied to Bibles lacking gold or silver gilding. It's important to note that this process is suitable only for new Bibles with minimal page wear.
Cover Tooling
Tooling involves the addition of lines to the exterior cover of the Bible. We offer the option of crafting a single or double line encircling the perimeter of the cover. Additionally, Bibles can be crafted without any tooling lines if preferred.
Cover Stamping
The spine's cover stamping is what distinguishes the Bible. Customize it with your desired text, whether it's "Holy Bible," a specific translation, or any other custom inscription. We also offer the option to stamp on the inside cover.
Yapp Size
Yapp size pertains to the amount of leather overhanging the text block. A standard yapp measures approximately 1/4 inch, a semi-full yapp is around 1/2 inch, and a full yapp covers the entire block when folded over. Pictured is a Full Yapp.
Raised or Tooled Hubs
Hubs serve as decorative elements on the spine of the Bible. They can be either raised or tooled for added visual appeal.
Gilt Line on Inner Cover
Elevate the Bible's appearance with gilt lines adorning the inside cover. Consider opting for a double gilt line for added elegance.
Page Dye
These are the colors available for Page Dye. Please note that a newer Bible is required for this process. We can also dye over the silver or gold gilt edges. These color swatches are for a guide only. The color may vary a little when added to pages.
